Khaosan Club Busted By Army Facing Five Year Closure

A late night club located close to Khaosan Road was busted in the early hours of Saturday morning by the military writes Stickboybangkok.com

Around 50 officers from the Special Operations Department from The Interior Ministry descended upon Zad Club at 2am following a tip off from media outlet Thairath who broadcast the raid via Facebook live.

Dozens of clubbers tested positive for drugs, dozens more found to be underage and the venue operating without a license or any paperwork.

Zad Club is located only 500 meters from the local police station and questions will certainly be asked why it was operating illegally right under their noses.

All those inside the club were tested for drugs with 66 returning positive results. 59 of the patrons were underage.

Members of the Special Operations Department found many sachets and small packets of ketamine scattered across the floor and in the toilets. A small quantity of marijuana was also found.

The owner of the club faces multiple charges including operating without a license, serving alcohol to minors, not having an alcohol license and breaking numerous fire safety regulations with officials stating if a fire had broken out at the club, many lives would likely have been lost.

He is being sought by authorities.
