Floating Market and Maeklong train market
We depart Bangkok at 0800 hours and make our way to the floating market passing rice paddies and salt fields. Arriving at the jetty we board the long tail boats for a free trip that will take us through the many small canals to the Floating Market. You will see the abundance of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, silk products, and local handicrafts being sold by the vendors from their rowing boats.
We proceed to the well known Maeklong train market. This is a great experience! The market is located close to Maeklong Railway Station. The markets vendors keep selling their goods until the last second and it is amazing to see the train pass by so close to the vendors who have to stop selling and reopen their stalls as soon as the train leaves. The trains are not very punctual so you may have to wait a little while. There are eight trains a day. We return to arrive at Khao san road at 1400 hours.
